Seasonal Warden – 2026 Season

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Seasonal Warden to join our small team for the 2026 season at one of the UK’s most unique and fascinating conservation sites.

Our season runs from 30th March until 1st November, but you’ll need to be available from 23rd March for training and helping us get everything ready before we open.

What the role involves

This is a really varied, hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, meeting people and being part of a team. No two days are the same, but your work will include:

• Leading daily guided tours to see the wild cattle and chatting to visitors about the Cattle’s incredible history, behaviour and the conservation work we do here
• Daily cattle checks
• Driving a Land Rover and trailer as part of the tours (don’t worry — full training is provided)
• Helping with school and educational groups
• You may occasionally be required to help with children’s birthday parties
• Working in the gift shop and visitor reception, selling tickets and souvenirs, taking bookings, answering the phone and dealing with general enquiries
• Pitching in with events, busy days and covering extra hours when needed

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working as part of a small, supportive team
• Is confident, approachable and happy talking to visitors of all ages
• Has an interest in wildlife, conservation, history or the outdoors
• Is organised, flexible and willing to muck in where needed (as we are a small team, we all do a bit of everything!)

The essentials

• A full UK driving licence is essential
• You’ll need to be able to work at least one weekend day each week
• Flexibility to work a few extra hours at busy times or for events

Nice to have (but not essential)
