Woodland Birthday Parties

Give your child a birthday they’ll never forget with a Woodland Party at Wildling Woods, our forest–school–inspired outdoor learning area at Chillingham. Designed for curious, adventurous children, our parties blend forest play, themed activities, crafts, woodland games and campfire experiences all led by a qualified member of staff.

With exclusive use of Wildling Woods and the Wild Cattle Pavilion, your group can enjoy a memorable celebration surrounded by nature.

Price: £200 for up to 15 Children

(Additional children £8 each – numbers will need to be finalised before we send you the final invoice)

The maximum number of children we can accommodate is 20. Siblings and the birthday child count towards this total.

Adult supervision: Please note at least 1 adult per 5 children is required for the duration of the party

Choose Your Woodland Party Theme:

The following are some examples of themes that we can offer:

Elves and Fairies – Create woodland crowns, fairy houses and doors or enchanted wands, followed by woodland games and imaginative play.
Woodland Warriors – Compete in woodland team games to see who is the ultimate woodland warrior!
Room on the Broom – Inspired by the much-loved story – craft your own broomstick, mix ‘witchy’ potions, search for lost items in a scavenger quest, and enjoy themed games.
The Gruffalo – Follow woodland trails, search for clues, create Gruffalo themed crafts, and play games inspired by the classic tale.

We have also done The Tiger who came to Tea, Teddy Bears Picnic, Celebrating Autumn, Welcoming Spring and other themes. If you have a theme you’d like us to try and accommodate, we will always try our best.

Optional Extras

Customise your child’s celebration with these add-ons:

Trailer Ride to See the Wild Cattle — £40. A magical half-hour trailer adventure with glimpses of the world-famous Chillingham Wild Cattle and stunning views of the Cheviot Hills. Timing will be arranged with you in advance.
Campfire Snacks — £2 per child Choose from s’mores, hot cross buns or campfire roasted banana

Themed Party Bags or Gift Boxes — £4 per child

Food & Facilities

Families are welcome to bring:

Birthday cake
We will decorate the pavilion for you as a standard part of the party package, but you are welcome to bring your own decorations if you’d prefer. Please note that we are a working conservation site so strictly NO helium balloons or sequins.

The Pavilion offers undercover seating for food and cake, toilet and handwashing facilities plus hot drinks for adults from the gift shop.

When Can Parties Take Place?

Parties run on Saturdays, with two slots available:

10:00 – 12:00
13:30 – 15:30

Available all year round, though winter bookings may be more weather-dependent.

⚠️ Important Information

Accessibility: Wildling Woods is reached via a sloped woodland path. The terrain can be uneven.
- Photos of access routes can be provided on request, or families may visit beforehand to assess suitability.
Parties may be rescheduled or refunded if severe weather makes activities unsafe.
