Chillingham Cattle Party

Artists impression of the result of the restoration.
So many thanks to all those who supported the fundraising dinner at Chillingham Castle, held on the 12th October by the kind permission of Sir Humphry Wakefield.
We had a full house with over 100 people seated in the Great Hall, following a drinks reception in the Minstrels Gallery sponsored by Brockthorpe. The guests enjoyed a three course dinner, much of which was donated by local supporters. The main course was Fallow Deer, which had come out of the Park.
The guests contributed generously to the raffle and bid enthusiastically in the auction, expertly conducted by Jim Railton. Our thanks to all those who contributed prizes and lots, and to those who bid.
The evening raised £12,000 which is a significant start to the funds required for the renovation of the Prince of Wales Pavilion and the provision of much better visitor facilities. We can now pressing ahead with the project.
