First School Visit!

This July, we welcomed Ford School to Chillingham Park. The 45 children, and their teachers, learnt all about the inhabitants of the Park as well as finding out how to identify various plants and trees.

This was the first time that we have been able to host a school party on an educational visit. Our new Visitor Pavilion contains the facilities that are required to make such a visit possible. The covered veranda certainly came in useful when a shower of rain arrived!

For many years, we have provided a research facility for higher education students and much research has been carried out on the unique Park and the Wild Cattle. We currently have an ongoing project doing further work on our dung beetle population, which will be compared to that on a commercial dairy farm.

We can now offer educational visits and research opportunities from Year 1 to PhD! For more information, do call the Warden on 01668 215250.
