🎃 Hallowe’en Specials at Wildling Woods 🎃

This October half term, Wildling Woods is getting a spooky makeover for two very special Hallowe’en Specials!

Come and spend a wonderfully wild morning in the woods, with two and a half hours of Halloween fun, autumn adventures and plenty of time to play.

We’ll be transforming the woods with spooky themed play stations and invitations to play, alongside lots of Hallowe’en crafts and activities to discover throughout the morning. Children will be able to get creative and make something suitably spooky to take home with them, as well as enjoying all the usual favourites around Wildling Woods.

We’ll gather together around the campfire for spooky stories and toasted Scotch pancakes with all the toppings.

And of course, Hallowe’en costumes are very much encouraged! 👻🧙‍♀️🎃 Every child who comes dressed up will receive a little Hallowe’en treat.

There will still be plenty of time for good old-fashioned woodland play too, with the mud kitchen, swings, hammocks, den building and all the usual Wildling Woods favourites available throughout the session.

These Hallowe’en Specials are designed to be fun rather than frightening, so they are suitable for younger children too – expect pumpkins, potions, witches, woodland magic and just the right amount of spookiness!

Important information

This is a stay-and-play session. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the event and remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult at all times.

Please meet at the Chillingham Wild Cattle Pavilion NE66 5NP , where we will walk together to Wildling Woods. Please allow enough time to arrive, park and be ready for the start of the session.

Wildling Woods is an outdoor woodland setting and the session will go ahead in most weather conditions. Please dress children – and yourselves! – appropriately for the forecast. Wellies or sturdy outdoor footwear and warm, waterproof layers are strongly recommended. Hallowe’en costumes are very welcome, but please make sure children are still warm enough and able to move around the woodland safely.

The ground is naturally uneven and can be muddy and slippery. Activities may include climbing, balancing, den building, use of natural materials and supervised activities around the campfire.

Campfire activities are always dependent on weather and fire conditions. In the event of high winds, very dry conditions or any other circumstances which make having a fire unsafe, we reserve the right to alter or cancel the campfire element of the session.

Please let us know when booking about any allergies, dietary requirements or additional needs that we should be aware of. While every effort will be made to accommodate dietary requirements, food is prepared and eaten in an outdoor environment and we cannot guarantee an allergen-free setting.

Babies who are not participating are welcome to accompany you free of charge. Please be aware that the route to Wildling Woods and the woodland itself can be difficult for some pushchairs, particularly in wet weather.

Dogs are not permitted at Wildling Woods sessions.

Photographs may be taken during the event for use by Chillingham Wild Cattle Association/Wildling Woods on our website, social media and promotional materials. Please speak to us at the beginning of the session if you would prefer your child not to be photographed.

Places are limited and advance booking is essential. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Bookings are non-refundable but you may transfer your booking to a friend if you’re no longer able to attend.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel the session due to severe weather or other circumstances beyond our control, you will be contacted using the details supplied when booking and offered a refund or alternative where appropriate.
