There seem to be quite a lot of road improvements planned for the Chillingham area over the next few weeks. Although that is no bad thing as the roads could do with some attention, it is a bit of a worry from our point of view. It is very difficult for us to delay a tour if people get delayed [...]
The Park is now open for the 2026 season. The Pavilion is open 9.30 - 3.30 and there will be four tours a day, seven days a week until the end of October. On the 20th September we were delighted to welcome the Whittingham Scout Group to Chillingham Park. Although the weather wasnt perfect, it did not seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the Scouts. Denene took 24 Scouts for a long walk around the Park, where they learnt all about the Cattle and their precious environment, along with the history of Chillingham. [...]
Spring is certainly here! What a pleasure it has been over the last couple of weeks to see the sunshine, watch the cattle graze across the Park and listen to the bird song. Children and adults had an amazing time at our Children's Pollinator Workshop! Lead by Wardens Ellie and Denene, a group of local children learned all about the pollinators of Chillingham Park. This summer has been very good for growing grass. Regular showers and some heat has meant steady growth across the Park for the whole of the summer. This allowed us to "shut off" the old Hay Field on the northern edge of the Park. There was plenty of grass in the main Park to keep the Cattle and Deer happy. [...]
